Description

Hi guys! It's been a while - new Poser, Genesis, v5, Zbrush 4r2 - I'm sooo behind... :( I haven't used Poser in a while so of course, I've forgot everything I've learnt about modelling and 'poserising' things. I'm starting again, from scratch :/ Here's what I'm up to: I tried to make a set with dynamic dress and conforming belt, but every time I run cloth simulation dress crumples and wrinkles through the belt. I've tried every setting I could come up with (up-sizing the belt included), I've tried with other conforming belts with same messy results. Not sure what else I can do... I also have to wait with conforming until I get permanent serials for Autogroup Editor :( I plan to add her some props too: staff and ring(s). Thanks for stopping by! :) ------ P6, V4, PS Aiofe Hair

Look for my dynamic clothing tutorials on youtube under " corinthianscori ". You need to run the dress cloth simulation, check those results, then run the belt simulation so the belt can "collide" with the dress's movement. When it comes to layered dynamic clothing on humanoids, work your simulations from the floor up, then from the item closest to the skin, working outward. So... first simulation is dynamic thigh highs that only collide with the legs and nothing else in scene. Next run the dynamic panties that only collide with the hip, thighs, and abdomen. Next run the simulation on the dynamic pants which collide with the panties, hip, thighs, shins, and feet. Finally, run your shirt simulation - this will collide with everything but the head and legs, depending on shirt style and your objectives. Also, be sure your collision depth is not set too high for each item. Looking at your image above, I'd say your dynamic belt should have collision offset of about 0.3 for the dress.

It's so great to see you posting again! This outfit looks great. Don't worry about the changes. The more things change, the more they stay the same. V4 is still in use, and getting more and more add-ons that make her more usable in Poser than Genesis. There's a weight mapped version of her in development for the latest Poser, but even those without the latest Poser can use the recent hip, leg, and arm fixes. My dynamic clothing experience has been a bit different than Corinthianscori. In my experience, the solution that's worked best for me for this situation is constrained vertices under soft decorated ones. That is, constrain the dress and soft decorate the belt. Or, if the belt really needs to be stiffer, make the belt a regular dynamic piece or group (group is slower, because it will all sim together), but with very stiff settings and lots of stretch. Oh! And most of my depth/offset settings are 0.2 depth, 0.25 offset.
