UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

A truly terrific pic which I'm afraid, Bill, that I can't look at for long......

Very nice picture of Chicago and very little traffic. Was it taken late, late at night?

Ooh! What a nice photo. Looks like you're hovering over the street. You've really succeeded in capturing the night time atmosphere in this one. The nearly empty street, the "yellow" lights lighting the buildings from below, the interiors in the building to the right. And the reflection of the wall and doorway to your room in the upper right part of the window pane you've taken the photo through. There's a LOT of atmosphere in this. Reminds me of when I was living near New York (on the way homewards), or visiting San Diego (Grant Hotel). Is this color film, or a digital photo? Night photos with film often give an exaggerated yellow tint (see street color), or, is this digital with a yellow tint, or are the street lights yellow halogen lights (easier on the eyes)? Keep up the good work. :-)

Are you sure this was taken from the window as I also suspect this was a ledge shot. Very impressive capture Bill :-)
goodoleboy
Stellar POV and perspective in this stellar night capture, Bill. Considering the age of the hotel, did you have electricity and running water?
Faemike55

Do you know, I don't think I ever looked out that side of the window! One of you guys were always standing there, or we were all sitting around yakking. All my shots were from the larger window. This is absolutely outstanding! It really does look as if you're hanging out over the street. VERY nicely done!
