Description

You never know what might be lurking! A WIP- still working out some lighting details. I am lacking any of the recent armor sets- this is cobbled together from Svana and not sure about the top. Mostly lit by light emitting objects-with a single fill light on low. The falloff is too fast with the object based lighting-so I am in the middle a redo with some blend of attached point lights. I wonder if the morph brush might be used to make the top fit better?

Hi Saphiria98! You made a fantastic Thanator btw. I think I'll have to make a followup render with your idea. :-) BTW: give your terminator avatar-great work btw- that's a nice play on the movie- "come with me if you want to live!"

First of all, I really like the scenery you use. Everything has a good texture to it (in the surface sense), and the structures and designs are interesting. I really like the blue light in the scene, though I wonder what's casting it. A magic orb? Some sort of gem? The monster's materials are wonderfully weird. It looks like parts of it are bioluminescent? Very cool, either way. Again, you have a good use of diagonals. They seem to be fighting the action, though. That is, the diagonals of the wall and the monsters approach work perfectly together, but the woman's pose kind of fights them. Her large, hacking type sword is away from the monster and she's sideways to it. If she were in a fencing type pose I'd expect her sword to be nearest the monster, and if she were more typically hacking at it, I'd expect her to be turned towards the monster. Basically, I'd expect her body to have turned in the direction her eyes have. Her eyes were a bit hard to read because her pupils seem to be white. Perhaps an SSS issue? Eyes are so difficult. Overally, this is a really strong scene. All the materials and colors look good, and you're doing interesting things with the lights (like the blue lighting from the side). The ambient based IDL is a bit extreme, but since it's positioned right above her head, it does a great job of making her face prominent. It's like she has a glowing crown. I really like her expression; it seems very naturally startled. Very inspiring work! Just so you know, my latest image uses points for candles, though they're not a very prominent part of the overall lighting. Maybe I'll do another for you with less ambient light.

Thanks Kobaltkween I had several lockups while working on this scene- in one the PMD file got corrupted-and I had to pull her back in from an earlier save. I'll likely address some of your comments with a "final" render later- the blue is coming from the "magic orb"- do you think there is a way to make it seem more magic? The Thanator claw is also obscuring her second sword. I tried Poser motion blur-but it looked "ugly"
