Description

Can anyone tell me why the volumteric lighting has that criss-crossed reflection on the water? I haven't messed around much with volumteric light, so I need help on that. How do you use a "shutter" light gel on volumteric sunlight?I just want a few "bars" in the light, following the direction of the light, not at right-angles. Took 6hr 24min to render at 82% completion lol. Any suggestions on improvement would be appreciated.

Hi JoeBlack, don't understud what you say about "criss-cross" (like this X). If you want a volumetric light with no reflection try to change the reflective angles on it(leave uncheked the smoke effect),or put the sun light under 45... Good job...

First test the gel on a standard light, you should get a the same pattern with standard or volume lights. This will save you time. Second, it looks like you are using a mapped picture to create the 'shutter' gel. IF the picture has lines going in one direction, then make sure the gel is Object Standard. Also, you may have to rotate the picture to get either a horizontal or vertical line pattern. IM me if you need additional help.
