Description
This time looking the opposite direction to my previous post. Victoria Australia. I really like the horseshoe patterns that form in wet sand, although I don't know what actually causes them.
Best viewed zoomed.
Thanks for taking the time to view/comment on my photo.

Such a nice sheen to the surface of the wet sand.

Must be the sea water creating this art. Stunning capture my friend. God Bless.

Most sweet day to capture beauty like this. :))))))) It may be the movement of the sand and air bubbles as the water is going back out that causes the horseshoe patterns. :))))) Most excellent capture my friend. :))))) Thank you for sharing all of the beauty you see. :))))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :)))))))

I love the view but i still adore those fluffy cloud's. A very small ripple leaves it's mark on the subjacent sand or mud at only very small depth's.. http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=myW7mA6vXa4C&pg=PA19&lpg=PA19&dq=what+causes+the+small+ripples+in+seashore+sand&source=bl&ots=YXzm0Fl9ib&sig=oi1j_aCwr6RKaXBCj-ha-8BmVh0&hl=en&sa=X&ei=W5wST5q9C4PV8gP6-r3FAw&ved=0CFEQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=what%20causes%20the%20small%20ripples%20in%20seashore%20sand&f=false

Wonderful composition of colors and patterns!

I would have thought the pattern comes from the sea horses......Sorry.:) At least is more fun than going on about the math for fluid dynamics, over a given surface of varied weight of sand grains and the gravity vs tidal movement calculations.... Some days I just shouldn't start typing should I?
