Description

Something I've found on a flash drive.Thought I'd upload it. Kahless stood outside the High Council's chambers. For a day and a half he'd stood there, motionless. Behind him stood his mate, the Empress Kheeshat. At his side was Martok, the Supreme Chancellor, his Kharka Dragon bone cane in his hand. With a nod, he turned to the clone of the original Kahless. "It is time Kahless." Martok said as he lifted the cane. "Then we finish this." The elderly Klingon said. Thrice Martok slammed the bone to the stone floor. "Open the Council chamber doors!" He shouted. Two warriors, one bearing the emblem of the House of Kang, the other that of the House of Kirk, stepped forward and opened the twin doors. Kahless instantly strode through the opening, Kheeshat and Martok following. Stopping before the throne, they stared for a moment at the child that sat there. "Gond, son of Kang!" Martok spoke to the tall warrior who stood to one side of the throne. "The listener says that he heard nothing but Dheeshat's breathing. Do you concur?" "I do! Dheeshat has displayed the quiet of the stealthy warrior hunting their foe!" Gond's voice echoed through the hall. "Joshua, son of David!" The Supreme Chancellor said, turning to the Human. "The watcher says that Dheeshat has sat motionless. Do you concur?" "I do! Dheeshat has shown the patience of the great hunter waiting to strike their prey!" The Human said loudly. "Dheeshat!" Kheeshat, the child's mother spoke up at last. "Do you know why you have done this?" "Yes, Mother." The girl said with a quick nod. "A ruler must not only be a great warrior, but but patient as well." "You are correct. And you are wise to know this." The tall, beautiful warrior said. Kahless stood before the throne, his arms crossed, and a stern expression on his face. After several seconds he grinned and held his arms out. Dheeshat leapt from the throne to her father's arms. "Did I do good Daddy?" She shouted to him. "You did better than good, my daughter. I am very proud of you." "I'm hungry!" the child said to the others. "When can we eat?" "We have a feast waiting for you." Martok said with a smile. "Let's go." Dheeshat leapt to Martok and laughed. "Let's go Uncle Martok!" As they turned to leave, Kahless spoke to Joshua. "I'm sorry for the imposition, my friend. With your metabolism, I know a day and a half is a long time to go without eating." "It was no imposition Kahless." Kirk told the Emperor as Peenk took his arm. "It was a great honor."
