Description
Captured 1/7/12, early AM, within treading distance of my lanquid lodgings.
Well worth a ZOOM.
The gate and fence enclose a huge apartment complex that has been under construction already for seemingly eons, at least easily over a span of two to three years. An exercise in stops and starts, lasting months, I suspect due to a lack of funding.
Adios, amigos, thankx for looking in, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Interesting that the chainlink fence is so much less sturdy than the padlock and chain!

I love the frayed hessian you have captured here. This padlock looks as though it will keep everyone out. I hope they get it finished before it becomes a white elephant.

Interesting how they tore that hole in the fabric, it makes a really cool composition. And I love the rusty post in the middle of it all; great capture, Harry.

Nice new padlock and the chain looks pretty new also. I like how the blue breaks up this photo.

your padlock series is another one worthy of a separate discussion. A small group of you, here on RR, really find worlds in these objects! In this shot, it shows why: It's a montage in which a padlock, chain & fence become strange 'creatures', not familiar but rather a colony of strange beings living in a world all to themselves. Part of it is the wonderful pink tone of the wall behind (if that's a wall). Part of it is the blue mesh around the left part of the fence (or gate, or whatever that is). Part of it is the rip: a fine piece of seeing, Harry! Great hole, just love it. Part of it is the blast of white on the mesh, either from the sun or bleaching of the fabric itself. And part of it is the padlock itself, a big bold shiny-thing in the middle of this strange 'rubble', standing out proudly, unmoved. And the white wire connecting the chain to the fence, not to mention the little blue threads coming off the mesh (around the hole). This is a photograph, Harry! What a cornucopia---I love this shot. I love your other padlock shots too, but I picked this one for now because it's like a still life, even though it isn't. It's like you arranged these for a creative montage, even though you didn't arrange a thing. Bizarre, exotic and wild, with that rusted pole right down the center: I love this shot. Terrific seeing, terrific. Harry, I've been at this for over 2 hours---a true pleasure, I might add, after so long an absence---and I'm not finished either. But I have to stop for now, as I want to get up an image and then go to sleep. But I'll be back for more in the next number of days. A real pleasure, though not easy to pick & choose. A most complete & universal gallery...
