Description

I like to go to Central Market in Houston. A gourmet grocery store. This week was Citrus Fest. So I bought some unique citrus. And Apples and Kale. And a few other items not pictured here. Apples are a Pinata, a BIG Ambrosia, a Red Delicious, and an Empire. OK, The Citrus colors are deceiving. Top Row, A Moro Blood Orange, and a Lisbon Lemon. Middle row,A Rangpur Lime, A Sweet Lime, and a Navel Orange. Bottom row a Limequat. I have had the Blood orange before, and The Lisbon Lemon, and the Navel Orange, but the odd colored limes are new to me. I tried a glass of Rangpur Limeade when I got home. It was good! kinda orange, kinda lime. I have yet to try the sweet lime, and the limequat. Also available were Cara Cara Oranges, and Meyer lemons that I buy often. I also like kumquats. The Kale was a unique looking organic variety. They also have Great Deli Sandwiches. Have a great day! :) If they were closer... I would go more often. It is about 40 miles away I guess. Luckily traffic was in my favor on this trip. About 35 minutes both ways. That is great for Houston traffic... I get to go 3 or 4 times a year. Thanks for all views and comments.

This is so interesting, Cheryl. Thank you for explaining all those fruits. There are some, I never heart from, or see any. The Kale, for me is a kind of (Dutch: boerenkool) borecole, which taste so well if it has got some frost over it. I really would like to once go with you to that market ;-). But you know, haven't my wings yet ;-).
