Description

Today, at sunset, a strange cloud stopped over the Etna, it was very similar to a witch's hat... perhaps, it was put on the road from the night of Halloween, but it came much later! ;) Have a wonderful weekend! :) Thanks for looking and for previous comments and fav!

it is common here for clouds to hang around the summit of mountains, with some times some strange shapes.when I was last in Colorado, I seen some but no where to stop beautiful mountainscape

It looks like a lenticular cloud that's been disturbed by some serious updrafts! Whatever the reason ... this is a gorgeous shot. Beautifully done!

I have watched a whole series about Sicily these last few weeks, and last night a lot of the programme was about Etna, and the special grapes that are grown there. Fascinating! A superb pic.

Not unusual to see a cloud formation above an active volcano, but to see a witch's hat is exceptional! Glad to see Etna's apparently having a nap, hopefully she will sleep for a long time.
