Description
Located in the small town of Kerby in southern Oregon is a business called It's a Burl. It stretches over several buildings & includes an outdoor area with unique, elaborate treehouses that visitors are welcome to climb into & explore. There are thousands of pieces of unique burl, as well as unusual objects crafted from burl, painted burl pieces, etc. It's kind of like entering a Burl Fantasyland. I have a few more photos from this fascinating place that I'll be posting.
Technical note: There were electrical lines in this photo that I didn't like. Though I could have used Photoshop to remove them, I used a much simpler application that is designed for just this kind of task (& just a handful of other functions) called Retouch Pilot. It was a snap to accomplish using Retouch Pilot - much quicker & simpler than Photoshop. I left the electrical lines in the thumbnail if you want to see where they were.

I am always interested in getting rid of wires. I have a photo I took 18 months ago that I'd like to post but have been unsuccessful in wire removal. I need to try again with the latest version of PS CS5, but however Retouch Pilot works, it works very well. And a fascinating business here...just was looking at burls on a tree in a posting today by durlybeachbum.

I've seen places like this - some of the things they can make out of burls are amazing. Nice shot

My kind of place, and I would just have to explore. A super capture and that retouch pilot sounds like a handy piece of software. Eliminating the power lines always makes a better image I think.
