Description

We docked just in front of this Liberian registered container ship when we got to Walvis Bay in Namibia. Just like most of the cruise it started of as a very misty day, thankfully clearing a bit later on. I confess to having being a bit of a wimp. I did not go ashore during our seven hours docked - all the tours planned were very costly and in US Dollars too. Instead I kept my Mom company and enjoyed the ship with less tourists on board! I did go and have a massage for an hour though, not cheap either. Clive

What's that big circle in the middle? Maybe a reflection on glass? Do you know I would rather go ashore in Namibia than stay on board and have some strange bloke rub his hands all over me!!!! That's just me, I have issues!!!!!!! LOL And this 'Liberian' freighter.....I bet it could tell some stories too. Great post.

Nice shot of an interestingly shaped ship! Like the tall tower! Cool... Tours are quite expensive if you book them from ship, but on the cruises I took mate, you could either find them ashore or even cheaper was know where you want to go, and take a cab! BUT barter a price! It works! lol Rob

Great shot Clive do what you like on a cruise, nobody said you have to go on a tour or anything but I bet your mum enjoyed you staying with her

That's the 'rub' Clive, if you go ashore it's expensive and if you stay on board they will cleverly massage you out of your cash!!

Nice shot, but avoid tours, they are often just traps, particularly in Hawaii. I'll never go on another one now that I know all their tricks. However, accommodation tours to get you to Hawaii and into a hotel are good, but once there, strike out on your own, IMHO. Never go to a free breakfast either, ha ha!

Wonderful capture; the ship has a strangely pirate-like feel to it. Or maybe it's just the colour it's painted? And I'd take a massage any day!

I'd have done likewise. Got a bit of a crink in my neck now:) Interesting ship design...we get to see HUGE ones come and go from Seattle.
