Dammit EVERYONE has their own style, their own way of looking at how Art in their mind should be...some are mind blowing experts others, like myself, down right suck...but you know what??? That doesnt matter! What matters is your enjoying the work you post. I am shamed to say I dont comment on folks renders as often as I should due to real life circumstances but I think taking five minuets to make a comment on ones work is the best way to encourage them and encouraging them alwys ties in with their doing even better the next time around...KEEP UP YOUR art my friend! Dont let one lowlife person who can piss on you take the cake of all the other friends you have here that love seeing you post. Please stay.

Rick, Art is never for the "consumer" it is something we do for ourselves, if people wish to comment, than that's ok, if they don't that's ok too. What is important is that YOU enjoy what you paint, and you, like every other artist here on 'rosity have helped others in some small way, it may be that you inspired them to paint a piece, it may be that your comments gave them incentive to keep going. Whatever it was, it helped somebody. It doesn't matter if you piss someone off because they don't like your comment, your opinion is your opinion, and that's all there is to it. Art is anything which causes an emotional response in the viewer (whether this be positive or negative). This being the case, then (according to this ONE sitemail) you have truly mastered it, dislike is an emotional response. Kudos and keep it up!.

art like beauty is in the eye of the beholder...it is too bad that some choose to see just the worst in things...most of them are too chicken to do their own thing and choose to berate others for their amusement...I can just see that person pulling the wings off flies and burning ants as a kid with a magnifying glass...choosing to just ...least they might be... art is the expression of ones self and is suppose to elicit an emotion...negative or positive...so in that way you were successful...keep up the good work...have a great day

But, I know of your problems in your life, so this 'attack' was totally uncalled for! It just shows that 'Wotan', whoever he may be, has never actually read any of your messages you add to a picture! Because as we all know you give a story to each picture.. We know your problems.. We know! The man is a prize dick! Pay no heed to the idiot.. Rick, I always enjoy your work and hope you can take the advice from Rose and the others to ignore this. There are just going to always be one or two idiots we have to deal with in many areas of our life. I've had my share of attacks here at Rendo from people you would least expect and finally got to the point of turning over the messages to Rendo to deal with and not reading the crap. There are just some people out there who are either jealous, or trying to make themselves look better by running down someone else. Most often it is to hide from their own miserable existance and their bitterness.

this artist never visits me, i have him faved and enjoy his work. but don't comment because he never returns comments, so i presume he does not like mine also. don't let it bother you Rick. your art is just fine.

Stand strong in the face of this ill mannered human...it would appear that he can't take his own words 'comments are welcome, good or bad'. If his words were true he would not have responded as he did. Its obvious to me that you put alot of thought into your work, doesn't matter if its as good as the next guys, it matters that you tried to give a visual emotion for us to peruse, that you cared enough to show it to us. Thank you for that. That you brought out that emotion in that guy is a good thing and I say "bravo' to you. I glanced at his gallery and it appears to me that he is one of those who thinks he should be at the top of the heap, looking for good ratings. His work is good,( if its his work), but I found it a bit boring because everything is the same, nothing changes emotionally from picture to picture and I would find it hard to give a good comment. People like Magnus073 and Rosie and Rob are correct in their comments to you, keep doing what you are doing, enjoy doing it and ignore the bullies that show up from time to time. As for your image, its not my personal cup of tea but its good,and its honest work. Again, thank you for sharing!

I've never had any issues with what you've created nor the comments you've given me to my works. I hope and pray that you will not let him drag you down to the point where you quit your art nor your commenting. Although I do not come you comment that does not mean veus you're no friend of mine. Aa Every artist is entitled to post his works. one thing first you dont leave now ute and me are glad to know you and it is always a pleasure to see what you wrote. as wotan and me are not regular visitors to each others galleries i cant say anything,but i find it most strange of his part to attack rudely like this reminds me newt gingrich in the campaign before everybody knew he cheated on his wife lol. the visit to each others galleries is not a must but a sign of mutual respect and this is not the place to attack people. there is soo much dirt in the world that lots of our fellow artists come here to relax and get away from the daily crap and thats why we should be nice to each other. i dont write "amazing work" etc on not so good works but at least i say something nice. dont go brother you are most liked by lots of artists friends including me. comn now shape up dont let the evil win.

Hi, Rick! Just took the time to visit your gallery (there are so many fine artists and you are one them I see). I read all the above comments and I still exactly know why. I been here on this site for around five years (?) and time to time I have got few comments to my uploads - not site mails - where somebody make statements about all kinds of things - funny one - constructive critics, which is fine and useful - and some times words I simple don't understand!! But always why commenting something you dislike? I say they wasting their own time not mine! I only comment what I see and like - the problem is more to get time enough to visit the many fine artists here. I say use time on your friends here and forget the others - I still time to time give up a few people in my life because we simply have something to talk about or the chemistry is almost totally lacking! By the most is friendly caring people.. Not forgetting your upload: Great work!! :o)

people like wotan is the reason that great artist like you are leaving. i do not leave very many comments because of life but just because i do not enjoy all art work there is no reason to belittle the artist because of his style of art. omg! I'm just seeing this! And I'm SOOO glad you chose NOT to leave. You'd leave such a big empty hole here at Rendo Rick. I'm SO glad you chose not to let this guy drive you away. This is just one person, who for whatever reason took offense .. and I have no idea why .. but if something like this ever happens again .. then look to those who love you, not the one or two that react to some unkown perceived offense. Art is what it is Rick, an expression of each of us. It takes courage for us to put our work out there, to expose our souls as it were. We all have our own styles and bring our dreams, our life experience, and our imaginings to our art. Not everyone is going to like what we do. So just ignore those who behave childishly and say hurtful things, and keep posting your wonderful works!

I know you've gotten past this hard spot. Believe me when I say that people like that are the ones who crush four year olds telling them that their "art" and finger-paintings are crap and thus destroy a possible new Van Gogh, Michelangelo, or Rembrandt. I've known too many of them in my past. They are entitled to whatever opinions they have for whatever reasons they have them. I've learned not to listen to people who don't have constructive and positive criticisms. People who have constructive criticism for my work I listen to and evaluate how what they say affects my visions. If it enhances what I am trying to communicate I'll incorporate that in my new visions and thank those who have helped me grow. Render ON! Pal.

Rick, I just found your gallery and am in agreement with the others here. KEEP THAT WORK COMIN! Art is a free form way of expressing ourselves. Remember, your making these images for yourself, not for anyone else. So long as your happy, dont worry about what others think. Very happy to have found your gallery, one I will visit often now. Excellent work on this one but thump the shark with a hammer in the nose, I see at least the drowning man has turned to his back so he can admire the stars over the ocean. JL
