Description
I dont normally post single images but this one I liked and as I was invited to test a new compression tool I thought I would share my findings!
Just using Gimp alone I would have to reduce the quality of the original image to 76% to get the same file size as this image which was created via http://www.jpegmini.com
Now Im no expert on the technical issues surrounding Jpeg compression and quiet honestly Im not sure what I should be looking for as a bench mark. I have noticed a pixalation in the darker shadows when zoomed in but if one tries to squeeze
everything into a 512k file size there will be deterioration somewhere.
Oh by the way the tree is still alive dispite its worn looks it has new green growth already! A welcome sign of spring!

I tend to make mine smaller to begin with so I don't throw my monitor out the window when I can't get it under 2 megs. Lol. Cool tree! ")

Wonderful study of light! Thanks for the link, I will give it a try. I have been dismayed at the loss of clarity when I reduce images to fit here.

Outstanding illumination fX! Was it natural?

Straight out of the camera No colour balancing contrast anything! Its a very dark overgrown area and the sunlight just caught the tree I saw it from the car, stopped got out, and I'm pleased I did!
