Costa Concordia Tragedy...
- When Costa Concordia listed and sank into the water, most lifeboats, which hang out from the side, couldn't be launched.
- Perhaps the most important question: Can cruise ships be evacuated in 30 minutes (from the time the abandon ship signal is given) which stipulated by international maritime law. Costa Concordia's passengers were stuck on board for five hours or more.

A great question Bruce and as a frequent cruiser - something to think about. My wife is legally blind and by cruise ship law, she has to board an early lifeboat without me. I can't go with her and I truly understand that and yet they will not let her hang back to board a later lifeboat with me. Great fractal – looks like the Queens labyrinth gardens in Alice in Wonderland.

Credo che 30 minuti non sono sufficienti a evaquare 5000 persone , penso il tempo necessario sia da 1 a 2 ore ( il tempo perso prima di dare l'allarme ). Devo anche dire che gli aitui giunti poi sono stati molto efficienti. Molto bella l'immagine , un frattale fantastico ! I think 30 minutes is not enough to evacuation 5000 people, I think the time is 1 to 2 hours (the time lost before raising the alarm). I must also say that aitui joints then were very efficient. Very beautiful image, a fractal fantastic!
