Description

Inspired by a shot by Kent Shiraishi published in the National geographic photo contest 2011. I used Vue's unique possibilities to recreate the mood of the shot Kent Shirashi did of this wonderful place, the Blue Pont in Biei, Hokkaido, Japan, when the first snow has fallen... This is fantastically realistic. We have lakes in my area that were made over uncut woodsland hills and valleys. In the winter, they look very similiar to your image.

I love the color. And the frost and trees are great. Looking up the original, you've done an excellent job of recreating it. It's kind of interesting, because the original is so extreme, and the water and trees are both so uniform that it looks almost like a CG work. Conversely, your work shows a little more organic variation. Sometimes it seems like the quality of a work is judged by how far the artist can take their work in the opposite direction of what's natural for the medium.
