Description
Looking out into Walvis Bay from the ship on a misty morning. A skein of cormorants dot a line as they fly past others roosting on the abandoned ship. In the distance there are more vessels resting at anchor.
Being rich in plankton and marine life, these waters drew large numbers of whales attracting whalers and fishing vessels. Walvisbaai (Afrikaans), translated is Whale Bay situated just north of the Tropic of Capricorn in the Kuiseb River delta.
