Description
I think it was Lynell who asked if Hester brought me my slippers. It is funny but there again not really but the girls have never taken slippers unless we gave them them when they were worn out. Lots of other things but no slippers or shoes :o)
Hester used to LOVE her toys, her fav was a red mouse called simply Mousie. Mousie went almost everywhere with her & when we lost her Mousie & Hedgie were buried with her. Hedgie was a yellow hedgehog that was her second fav toy. She would carry them around both in her mouth at once & sometimes she squeezed another toy in. I never allowed her to carry her two favs & a tennis ball as I was frightened she might choke. If I asked her to bring just one or the other to me she always brought what I asked for.
A little funny story sticks out in my mind.
When we brought Hattie home as a puppy, Liz who kindly put one of her beautiful puppies in our care, sent Hattie home with a blanket, that had been in Hatties bed & a squeaky carrot. As soon as we walked into the kitchen with the pup Hester homed in on the carrot, she sniffed Hattie but the carrot was for her. :o) Now the girls had a toybox full to the brim of toys & Hester knew them all by name, oh yes she did. We got Hattie settled in after a little meander round the garden & meeting the girls. Hester still had the carrot so I told her if she had the carrot Hattie must have one of her toys in exchange. So I got her to sit next to me & the toybox. I took each toy out one by one, can she have dolly I asked, she took it from me, no thats mine, I like dolly. Raggy rope, she took that from me, no I really like raggy rope, squeaky ball, she took that too. Beefburger perhaps, Hester looked, didn't take it. Oh she can have this one then can she, I have to admit I hadn't seen her play with it much. We eventually went through the whole toybox & out of them all Hester allowed Hattie to have the three she didn't want. It was so funny to see the pile of toys next to Hester & the three I had put by for Hattie. As the weeks went by Hattie did play with any of the toys she wanted, Hester was never protective over them, there wasn't a nasty bone in her body.
In the pics you can see her carrying a lump of rock.
Keeping an eye on Mousie as Pagan had gone & laid by it. (Sorry re quality)
Hester with her three favs.
Hester with Mousie & Hedgie in together. (Have posted that one before)
Thanks for all the lovely comments & favs, so, so appreciated. xxxx

Awww, beautiful memories!! Miss Cassidy has started a new trick... When we come up the porch now to go in the house... She jumps in the chair I sit in on the porch and says no I don't want to go in, I want to sit in the chair. So I sit in the other chair on the porch with her for a little while. :) :) Sally and Miss Prissy were alot more inclined to be on the porch with me than Cassidy has. But maybe now she wants to. :)

Marvelous set of pictures accompanied by a wonderful memory of such a dear friend. You have the heart of a true animal lover Barbara. The love and affection as well as the respect you show each and every one of your dogs shows you are a someone I would trust with my life if necessary. I've learned thru the years that people that are animal people are by far my favorites. I personally have a lot of trouble trusting anyone that actually dislikes animals. Some people are frightened of them and that can be understandable, but fear does not mean dislike.
