I am Native American (Blackfeet, Cree, Choctaw and Cherokee). I've been an amateur photographer since I was 10 when my dad bought me my first camera, a German Zeiss Ikon 35mm. I take pictures of pretty much anything and everything that catches my eye. I don't use any high end photo editing software. I use Picasa and occasionally web based photo editing sites. I do the best I can with what I have. I usually just let my photos speak for themselves. I ride motorcycles with my soulmate of over 40 years and take pictures "on the fly" from the passenger seat. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of Renderosity.

It runs across the top of the mountains from Tellico Plains, TN to Robbinsville, NC. It was taken through the car windshield at speed.

Nice shot. In addition to the clouds, the touch of red in the trees make this special...

Here we have Tule (toolie)fog. Tule fog is a low cloud that forms when cold mountain air flows downslope into our valley during the night, pooling in the low areas until it fills the valley. I recently heard it forms from the ground up instead of the sky down. I hate being caught in the Sierra or coastal mountains on a lovely day, turn on an "S" curve and run into this type of fog. Gorgeous shot with lots of color and wonderful pov.

There are other places on the road where you can better see the clouds as they come across the mountains. The highest point on the road is a little over 5300 feet. Unless it's a very sunny day, driving through clouds on the Cherohala is a common occurrence. And yes, the road had been repaved not long before we drove it. The Cherohala has been oped since 1996 and cost approx $100,000,000 to build the 50 mile stretch. It's one of America's Scenic Byways. It's not far from the Smokies, Foothills Parkway, Tail of the Dragon and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
