Description

I felt like doing a fluffy image because all the stuff on utes new pc went so well.lol. This afternoon I just copy the emails from incredimail and the pop3-manager,and sync the few files she had in use yesterday and then she can be up and runnning on the new machine in no time. To all the people who are afraid of upgrading don’t you worry but of course you don’t upgrade on an old machine it has to be one with the new components otherwise you don’t get the power it has. You don’t put a ferrari engine into a beetle so to speak. For the 100 gig runtime of ute I made an image of her partition where the runtime was on with Acronis-Home and then I made a partition on the new machine and restored the partition/runtime there. After that I installed the 3 versions of daz studio 2.3,3.1 and daz4. They work without conflict using the same runtime. Then I took over her private data images, photos etc and copied it on a partition where she keeps her data. All the programs have been installed afresh,no old body bags around lol For the winxp-32 bit players you can still play in xp compatible mode,or you install a dual boot system, make a tiny 10-15 gb partition for a minixp just to play . There are plenty of very comprehensible tutorials in the tech forums of how to do this.watch the bootmanager of course when you install xp after a win vista/7 installation, because it will not recognise the win7 instalation. In this scenario you use the free bcd bootmanager and you will have a menu on startup wich OS you want to boot. Tricky but do-able. Be aware you cannot upgrade a 32-bit system to a 64-bit system without doing a fresh install of windows 7/vista whatever. Best be a new machine with all the new components, silent and energy saving and an intelligent CPU Intel-I5 or Intel- I7. Windows is just the plattform, the engine and the rest you install your programs in the language and in the configuration you want. Oh yeah and watch it when installing new programs.i do since 20 years always a customized installation whatever I install ,never use the default or recommended crap.because program then installs crap and addons wich you might not need and wich will slow down your machine. Some even install toolbars and change your browser startpage when doing default install, always customize your installs. For any help or advice contact me @ uterene@hotmail.com or via site mail I will always try to help. But remember I am not wonderboy some things might not work after all, depending on the equipment and configuration. I must admit I have a kind of burnout feeling now, I have not really played much with daz over the last days.maybe I am addicted lol. I will comment somewhat later and in the right mood to respect the works from my fellow artists Rmp:Rpublishing-Elven-desire,prae-Echo,rp/propschick-elven desire-hair,SASE-Roz,

Cool Pic. Moving to a new OS has always some miracles. Wir haben uns anstadt neuer Rechner einen Netzwerkserver für die Datensicherung gegönnt. Einen QNAP TS-419P2 mit 3x 3TB als Raid 5.

nah... t'aint fluff.. fluff would have a naked vickie with a sword, in a temple, fighting a dragon, protecting a wide eyed teddy bear from the onslaught... tha's fluff for you... Ute is soooo damn lucky that you enjoy what you do for her (the computer stuff is what I meant... the other stuff... well, she has that luck too).... have fun, just remember.. a computer is just an anvil, the programs are the hammers...is all jus' smithing...

A very fine 'fluffy' image, Rene! Love the characters and setting! You done good on this one! Thanks for all the information on upgrading to a newer system/computer! I was hoping to get a new computer this year, but finances are in the crapper and appear they will remain there for sometime to come. Well, keep on rendering and loving life you two! I wish all the very best for your both!
