Life in flux. So, I was looking with passionate interest for people who were interested in making realistic materials - called shaders - for Poser mesh. That interest had shifted to making dynamic cloth for Poser, but has since moved further afield: to Blender3D. And creating scenes in Poser for Cycles.
Exciting times!!
How can it be the best things in life are free? Blender 2.63a with Cycles is just the most amazing programme, evah! How can this be free? Well, what I'm typing in: Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu 12.04) is also free. Solid, stable, never any issues, finds new devices without me having to do anything... how can this be free?
These are exciting times indeed, and they don't cost money. They cost time and imagination and dedication and a desire to learn. And they are free.
Gotta love it!

How I love the contrast and she leaves a mysterious aura with her facing away from the camera, a unique concept. Glad to see you posting again. :-)

I love the lighting in this! It's slightly ethereal. Great image:)

This is a nice scene, made somewhat disturbing and melancholy by the overcast skies and wind implying a storm. The water is great (as usual), and the pose is good. The benefits of her new rigging show in her ankles, elbows, and shoulders. The one thing that occurs to me is something mentioned in a BlenderGuru tutorial. With overcast skies, your light is much more indirect and blurred. That's an incredibly sharp and dark shadow, even if the sky is mainly clear where the sun is. Great work, and congratulations on the launch of V4 WM!

Thank you for your comment: excellent point, KobaltKween. Now that you mention it, that shadow looks a bit edgy for the implied lighting: good catch!

I like this and what you did with the dress. Having it fit nicely and realistically is very important IMOP for any image. The sky is too dark and the water dull for the lighting you were using, but the model stands out brilliantly.

Well, shoes are very important ;). Love the dress! :)

excellent work!

Great image! I think, whilst the lighting of the sky relative to that of the water might not be quite realistic, for me this doesn't matter... indeed this becomes a device that serves the composition... and in romanticism, which I think this image embodies, that's how it should be.

Impressive composition and great work on the lighting to capture the atmosphere. Excellent work!
