Description

Still working on lighting, trying to create directional lights to build a 'dramatic' mood ... Well, I'm not sure of the result, so don't hesitate to give advices. Posed in Daz Studio. Materials tweaking, lighting and rendering in Octane Render. Pathtracing kernel and some 'self made spotlights'. Postwork in Gimp for resizing and signature only. Thanks for viewing and taking time to leave a comment. Have a great time. Many thanks too for your comments and favs on my previous image. thumb_2293970.jpg Feel free to visit my gallery Models used : Victoria 3 (Daz3D) Liquid Knight on Sky 16 (Uzilite) Havoc (Sanctum Art) City Ruins (Stonemason)

Excellent scene as always....i like the lighting, but for me, i would have just used a small point on the cenral characters and used some indirect spots to one side to illumniate the critters..and cast shadows towards the figures in the middle to add to the menace.I see where you came from on this though, i.e. highlight the figures in the middle...it is very well done. Well, you did ask for comments and these are my observations, not a crit in any way :-)

I see you were using spotlights, and as you can see they were directly above each subject. I would have went with two darker toned light sources on either side, then one lighter toned distantlight source above and to one side the subjects. There is a very good tool around that can be of some use too, called the 'Uber Environment'. One more thing to consider, bump up the skin textures and the ground textures more to give the appearance of weathered worn rather than smooth. Great composition by the way. I enjoy your work and why I have you in my watch list. You asked for advice and I gave it. Look forward to you next masterpiece.

Une super scène d'action, les personnages sont très bien posés et positionnées ! Aucun conseil de ma part car je ne comprend rien à la lumière ;-)

Awesome work and you really wouldn't want to be in their shoes right now. My only advice would be keep at these, they are terrific!

A bit of back-lighting wouldn't hurt. You've done a nice job so far. ")

I like what Savage_dragon offers. As is - everything is symmetry and running from the center. Making the light come from the back side (like from within a tunnel) and offset things a notch. Put the attacked party at a 40 percent spot instead of the center 50 percent spot, and perhaps have the POV be coming from behind a monster's shoulder or some such.. As is, the white-lit armor is distracting, it makes it difficult to pull out the shapes and forms of the center party. I like the idea of this with the scattering of debris.

I like the drama in this...my only thought would be what is actually casting the light...is it from streetlighting or a ship above? If it was streetlighting, then I feel that there are too many light sources,as if each figure is sitting under it's own light.Perhaps fewer bright lights placed as if in a street setting, with some indirect light casting additional light on the figures,as if from signage or other building lights in the environment.Just my two cents...it's still an excellent render!

Great potential here but the lighting is confusing. The shadows of the three characters are moving away from them i.e outwards but the shadows of their assailants are moving inwards.Less is more as they say.

ok the light is not perfect, and I know how can be frustrating set a perfect illumination, in Octane maybe more painful :) Still is a great render, they seems action figures! I'd like to purchase Octane but is a bit too expensive for my pockets right now
