That night before dinner, Kyli managed to get her brother to herself. She hadn't really gotten to talk to him much since he got there. He'd come a long way in the last few years. Even Lali would admit that. For nearly fifteen yarens he'd been a drunk, a womanizer and a wastrel - a shame to his father and a grief to his mother and sisters. Kelly was a looker and a charmer when he chose. He well took advantage of it, too. Then something happened - no one knew what - and Kelly turned around the other way. They all knew better than to ask. He simply wouldn't talk about it. Period. Kelly seemed sort of 'far-away' tonight. "What's goin' on under them curls brother?" Kyli teased him. "Ya look bonnie, Kel. I'm so happy ta see ya like this." "Yer not lookin' so bad yourself, sister. Better than I seen ya in awhile. Glad you an' Morgan got all your troubles straightened out. I just...I just look around me an' see all these things in a beginnin' ya know - just startin', like you an' Morgan, Beren an' Ursala, Angus an' Moira - even Magnus an' Mab pickin' up the pieces. Kelly hadn't really known much about Mog until now. "Well, it's kinda soon ta say if it'll go anywhere, darlin'." She patted his cheek and gave him a kiss. Maybe it's just the thought of havin' ta leave soon an' go ta war with gods know what. Fightin' them Norsemen an' Englishmen don't bother me, but this...," he shivered. "This is diff'rent."
