Description

This young girl went to look at the strange glass island in the middle of the river, but then she was distracted by locks affixed to the bridge in front of it. They are the Love Locks affixed by sweethearts to symbolize their everlasting love. Was she wondering about her primary school sweetheart? The Murinsel or Mur island in Graz, Austria, is an artificial floating platform in the middle of the Mur river. The building, designed by New York artist Vito Acconci in the form of a giant sea shell, measures 50m in length and 20m in width. Two footbridges connect it with both banks of the Mur. The center of the platform forms an amphitheatre for 350 visitors. Below a twisted round dome there is a café and a playground. Thanks for your kind comments.

She looks too young to have a sweetheart. Probably wondering who left their lock on the fence. A fascinating piece of architecture. I'd love to visit and see inside. Great image and information.
