Hi there! My name is Victoria, and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California (but live elsewhere now). I first became interested in computer graphics some time circa 1995 when my dad gave me this CD package of some new, up-and-coming computer software at the time which included Aldus Photostyler and KAI PowerTools. I went home that day and created some silly little piece and after that I was totally hooked. A few years later a friend introduced me to Photoshop, and it was love at first sight. Since then I have been teaching myself all things Photoshop. About two years ago I came across an ad in a magazine for DAZ Studio. I had always been a little intimidated by 3D graphics, thinking it was way too hard to do, but I decided to give it a shot anyways. Now I'm equally obsessed (if not more so) with all things 3D as well.Â
My art is a mixture of DAZ Studio, Poser, Photoshop CS5 and Filter Forge. My other tools of the trade include Hexagon, Silo, ZBrush and Vue, and I also do black & white digital photography and photo restoration on the side. I am a huge fan of classic artists like Salvador Dali, Calder and Leonardo da Vinci, but am also strongly influenced and inspired by the works of contemporaries like Jack Pedota, David Ho, Luis Royo, Olivia and many of my fellow Renderosity artists who continue to inspire me on a daily basis.
I have several college degrees including a BA in English Writing, a BA in Anthropology, and an MS in Evolutionary Ecology (a subdiscipline of Anthropology).I think my ultimate goal with my graphics - what I really hope to get out of all of this - is to create something truly beautiful one day that either someone will deeply appreciate in their heart or that will inspire someone to create something beautiful. Thanks for stopping by . . . and happy rendering!V.

Beautiful post work and atmosphere! Love this image!

Well it did not dawn on me to ask, because I would assume the light rays would be outside the building, unless they were intended to radiate from her. I think it works well, the limited color, the simplicity of the set layout keep the focus on her and the light. There is an elegant softness to this work. It has a lovely subtle sensuality.

Don't know much about DAZ, but this render looks interesting!...hope to see it finished..
Rainework
This is lovely - my first impression was of someone standing in the first light of dawn so I didn't wonder why the rays were behind her at all. Their direction really brings additional focus to your figure since they do have that radiating pattern, but they do it in a way that makes sense to me when I look at it. I very much agree with Brewgirl as well - the elegant softness is captivating.

So beautifully romantic! The composition is fantastic and the monochrome adds magic to the scene.

I haven't played with the atmospheric lights or I'd offer advice... if I was to play around with it and needed help, I would ask efron_241... a few years back for a year he was just playing with the lights - I suggest site mailing him.... the other thing, you have a building in this with a ver small window of seeing what is going on... it may take forever to render, but I'd put a woman in a cage and set it on a block with a floor - maybe a graphed floor to see if you can tell where these rays are coming from and ending.... You should end up with a pretty wild image, but the render may take a long, long time - lol... try it, would love to see you post it.

Looks good to me. I only used Daz studio a long time ago. I can get Godrays in Vue but renders take quite a while and I have a pretty fast 64 bit computer. I got the free version they offered just recently. I may put is on my fastest computer. I am not looking forward to reinstalling everything. Also I would have to get all the DAZ files that I have always ignored. I do not know if it would be worth the effort. I understand the new DAZ Studio Pro has a pretty good lighting and rendering system. I know I was not much help. I think your render came out pretty darn good.

Wonderful lighting and its subtle lights fit the mood and atmosphere so well. Her outfit is beautiful.

~I have the atmospheric cameras but haven't tried them yet. If they prove to be workable, they have been a long desired addition to DAZ. I like the atmosphere you have created here...nice work!~

At the left side, there are a background with a wonderful color and a nice girl with a lovely pose and a beautiful dress. For the right side, it's sure there is a problem, because it's really too dark. I also think the chest and the head look a bit too dark, unless you intended to do this way.
