Description
I deviated from the prescribed tutorial by using some of my own Blender trees in addition to Andrew Price's ivy-covered tree trunk. This led my image off into a whole different direction. My wet path looks much slimier than Andrew's because it is reflecting leaves instead of sky, and so I gave it some mushrooms as well for good measure. I played around in Genetica to make layered grungy bark and rock textures, as well as the textures for the mushrooms.

This is gorgeous, Nanette. Wow. I love all the detail! Your deviations are perfect. I don't know what it was "supposed" to look like, but I LOVE what you've done!

This is so timely for me. I was just beginning to think, "Well, I couldn't do something like Stonemason's Enchanted Forest in Blender, could I?" And it appears that yes, I can. Great to know! You're progressing by leaps and bounds in this course, and really showing what Blender can do. Oh, and thanks for the link to the rose tutorial!

Thank you very much. Kobaltkween, you most certainly can create such a forest in Blender.

Very peaceful and lovely... and in Blender, no less. This is superb artistry, Nanette... modeling, lighting: all incredibly superb. You are really giving not only Poser but also Vue a run for their money. :)

You are all so kind, thank you very much. Blender is not really difficult it is just big. You can do almost anything with it if you know how. The program is free, and there is a lot of knowhow available for free also. We are very privileged.

Again, a really nice job. As far as Blender not being difficult - I find myself banging my head against the wall quite regularly.....
