I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

A gorgeous place to drive through- I'm amazed at that ground cover and the highway shoulder rocks and stones; superb realism Bob!

Very nice! I want to drive that road!
Thelby
The higher quality render process smoothed out alot of the road, it looks much better! Adding the green grass with the dead works very well for this!! I do like how the road has the rocky debris on the side, super touch in it for sure!!!

I can only imagine the number of hours you put into this, Bob. And it's good to have folks who can help out. Spot on, a fantastic rendering! Now if there were only a way to put a few cracks and small potholes in the road...

Awesome work Bob...but, you know me...a bit more contrast and saturation and WOW! You've really got a handle on TG2...I'm still playing catch-up. :)

Wow - that's impressive. Really well done. (But maybe you could work in a blond lady driving the car with a 6-pack in the passenger seat??)
