I was just talking, in another gallery, about the inner language of flowers, esp closeup, how they open up a whole universe of furrows & slopes & lights, etc. This is a beautiful example of what I was writing about. The flowers are 'flowers', but seem to come out of a deeper substrata of hues & energies; and the petals have that magical ambiguity of both surface & light---a light which seems to be what it is and then, the next second, morphing into something else. Your butterflies meld into the flowers organically; and your background hues morph too, changing with the energies of the flowers. I've never seen the Himalayan variety of poppy, am familiar mainly with the common 'red' varieties one sees in European & American gardens. These are very ethereal and beautiful. And your move from peach hues to those blues is natural as rain. An opulent but delicate portrait, and another beauty in your language of flowers series...
