Description

This clock was erected in 1897 to commemorate the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria. The arch allows access to the upper shops which are an unusual feature in Chester being both on the ground floor and the first. Please zoom for more detail.

Spectacular clock in a very interesting setting. You've got two main points of interest here...the clock and the street scene. I might have tried the clock by itself since it has such great detail.

IIRC there is a special name for the bi-level shops. (pounds head to jog memory banks... nope.) I hope you have some images of them. They really are a unique feature.
