I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

I'll bet this is one of those things Kayla will remember always...throwing pebbles/rocks for grandma to try and get the plonk/splat:) I've tried this without results anywhere near this good. Like it.

Amazing capture - lucky shots are almost always the best! Love it :)

I love all the little circles around the outside of the big one; beautiful shot!

Oooh, capital capture, with super lighting effects, of the pebble-generated splash and multiple rings in this stellar snap, Carin! And the ever expanding rings are similar to the commonly known butterfly effect, Dierbaar.

Superb capture Carin. God Bless.

I like the pattern it has made. Andrea made me chuckle :o)

Love the random circles!

Excellent capture! :)

This is every bit as expressive as the splash would have been! I can hear the sound, see the splash of water, feel the resistance of the stone dropping through the water. It's visceral and immediate ... quite easy to relate!

An excellent PLONK!

A peaceful and daydreaming image - despite the pebble throwing interruptions ;) something we all did, at some time in our lives, of that I am sure and loved every minute it! BB

Wise words said. Myself, I try NOT to get the perfect shots, at least not always. I love the surprise unposed ones. Love this. Smart to keep an eye on the little one. Better safe than worry. Thanks for the welcome back. Aloha

All of our actions either reward us or hurt us. This one is on the plus side and there will be so many more to come! Especially with your grand children.
