Description

In McBaine, Missouri. It's between 200 and 400 years old and is one of the oldest trees in the state. It is 90 feet tall and 7 feet around at the trunk. The temperature was 10 degrees with a wind chill well below zero, to the point the shutter in my D700 began sticking; yet this tree has withstood weather like that for hundreds of years.

exhilarating tree and capture.Texas had a very old Oak, The Treaty Oak, a once-majestic Southern live oak in Austin, Texas, is the last surviving member of the Council Oaks, a grove of 14 trees that served as a sacred meeting place for Comanche and Tonkawa Tribes. Forestry experts estimate the Treaty Oak to be about 500 years old and, before its vandalism in 1989, the tree's branches had a spread of 127 feet. The tree is located in Treaty Oak Park, on Baylor Street between 5th and 6th Streets, in the West Line Historic District. with Ross Perot's blank check they were able to save it but it lost much of it's limbs
