Photography has always been important to me. Since I was a child I would take photographs. At first with a Agfa Box camera (which has been my Avatar for a long time). Later, I borrowed my father's camera and when I was ninetheen years old, my uncle gave me my first SLR camera. Two years later I bought myself a top of the art SLR camera and I took thousands of photoslides and photographs with it till it was stolen from me. In the beginning of 2002 I got my first high performance digital camera (Minolta Dimage 7, upgraded to a 7i) and from that moment I got even more enhousiastic about photography. Now it was possible to take pictures and look at them right away.. In 2005 the Minolta was replaced by a Canon Digital Rebel (Canon EOS 350D). At the and of the year I've even bought a Pentax Optio WP to be able to take pictures under water, in the rain etc.. I 2009 I bought the Canon EOS 450D as well as a Samsung WB5000. All camera's are frequenty used by me. I am a member of RR since October 2004 and I still enjoy being here. I enjoy the photographs of other people very much by looking at those pictures I get ideas of improving my own pictures. So.. thank you !!

You did indeed succeed! I know exactly what you mean.

I am always amazed by a comment like "nicely caught" when a static subject was photographed... as if the trees were running and you caught them just at the right moment... Sorry for the vent! :-) Now my comment - I think you did a sterling job. Composing the image with the slightly skewed trees on the right hand side of the image brings balance and the rythmn that you were looking for! You did a great job!

This is a wonderful image! :) As for rhythm... not so sure - but you certainly captured the towering trees and immensity of the forest. Not sure I'm conveying that well - but my trouble with forests/trees (and long-range shots in general) is I can never seem to capture the "feel" of what I see - it always ends up looking flat to me. I guess that's why I tend towards the macro images. Beautiful image though and kudos to you :)

I'd say you were very successful - this is a beautiful composition. You haven't eliminated the chaos (that would eliminate part of the essence of what a forest is), but you have framed it in a very satisfying way. Fine work...

Oh yes, you've certainly succeeded! The rhythm is absolutely there. You've got nice groups of three punctuated by single trunks, and the contrast with the snow brings it all out. Really fine work! It's tough to do, and you've acquitted yourself admirably!
