Description

Ok...this was a weird one. I 'painted' this while outside in bright sunlight. The glare made for an interesting hurdle...which turned out to be oddly freeing. I couldn't make out half of the strokes I made, and my palette was a complete mystery. I had to rely on contrast alone. I didn't really know what I had until I viewed the image later, inside. I'll have to try this again some time. ArtRage 3.0 iPad 2 AluPen stylus

Very interesting brush strokes and I like the shadow and lighting in this one as well.

Were you bare foot and standing on magic Mushrooms too? lol... looks like not only were you having a trip with the sunlight, looks like mother nature got ahold of you some how - lol... I like this, but if you are ever hired to paint something in the future, I suggest being in doors to where you can see what you are doing - lol

I think it was a very successful experiment. It has a lot of energy and looseness while still being immediately recognizable and dramatically lit. Nice to see you posting again!

Thanks Mike...I think? I've always drawn and painted far too literally. I drew what I saw. But lately I've been experimenting, and while I'm not entirely happy with this result, it's definitely a step in the right direction for me. Realism was not the goal, and it might not be to everyone's taste; but that's hardly the point. I paint for me. :) And thanks KK. It's good to be back.
