Description
When the elven princess is suddenly ambushed by a band of orcs, her bodyguard quickly springs into action coming to her defense....
This image is the result of a rather lengthy exercise in better learning DAS Studio 4, the Genesis figure....and its clothing and posing. I am uploading now it so I will stop continuously tinkering with it. This is my first multi Genesis figure scene, and I learned a few things:
1. The autofit tool is great for fitting V4 and M4 clothing to Genesis, but once it does it, you lose all movement morphs for the clothing.
2. V4 and M4 poses sometimes work on Genesis, sometimes they produce very strange results. DAZ has just released a tool that will convert M4 and V4 poses for Genesis and it should come in very handy, but I haven't tried it yet. In general, however, posing Genesis from scratch is not as difficult as it is with the generation 4 figures.
3. Mesh smoothing is great for dealing with movement and poke throughs in clothing, but it can really slow things down when you have multiple characters clothed with Genesis clothing. Best to turn it off once you clothe your character and then turn back on before rendering.
4. The Genesis male lacks a very important male part, but if you try to add M4 genitals, the autofit tool treats them like a piece of clothing and produces highly unacceptable results that cannot be shown on Renderosity! I did learn a quick PS trick to give the poor fellow the appropriate shape in his trousers!
All in all it was fun learning new things and I hope you like the image. Thanks for viewing and your comments...I appreciate your support!!
Nice detail in full size, feel free to ZOOM!

You've created such an awesome scene here, love it! :))

A lovely scene here and very curious and interesting characters! None of them look fearful, though seem to be thinking hard, and ready to pounce at the attacker! Reminds me of the Medieval Times... excellent scene and background!

Beautiful Rendered scene

Beautiful work on these characters, Marco - they make such a good story! Besides, I liked your own story describing your adventure with DS4 and Genesis... for some reason I especially found the #4 very entertaining! :D Vashek

A beautiful scene you have created here and I can see you are far more advanced than I am trying to learn this software. Excellent work.

First I would like to apologize for not commenting on your renders. I have not received e-bots. So I became suspicious because I knew that it has went on too long (surely all of you hadn't suddenly stopped posting) and that there has to be a error on my email or rendo. For some odd reason all my ebots from here was going to spam mail. Ugh! This is fantastic. Love the lighting and scene.

Very nice - you have captured the moment of the battle scene. Good expressions in the characters. George/Teffo

Amazing fantasy art!!!

Beautiful scene with wonderful detail and poses. I like the different body language between the princess and her body guards. The body guards have graceful supple fluidity, their bodies ready for the fight. The princess looks frozen in surprise, with a bit of unconscious regal imperiousness in her bearing. Beautiful lighting on the princess's face. When I read #4, I had a mental image of the "poor fellow" reacting to your different attempts. I imagine his cohort was snickering while the princess graciously averted her eyes.

Wonderful render and composition, Marco. Finely crafted, with a good story. I started a thread in DAZ forums called: Bypass Autofit with DS4 and Genesis And i got the problem solved. Look for the answer from Richard Haseltine on the middle of the first page. It solves most problems with Autofit..and you avoid losing the morphs. This is the thread: http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=183034

You can also use the deform tool to add any needed shape to give the poor fellow some package. And that smoothing tool is necessary for making most gen 4 clothing fit, it takes a while to calculate but the results are usually worth it.

This is gorgeous, Marco! And I am a bit miffed over the lack of genitalia for the Genesis figure. It is really a horrible oversight on Daz's part. I can only hope someone will make one that actually works with him and can be textured to match. I know Jepe has them for M4, so maybe he will come up with something for Genesis. Great action here, beautiful elves!
