Description

This as you can see is the bust of Wild Bill Hickok. Two days ago I wrote that this is in Boot Hill above Tombstone, it is not. The cemetery is Mt Moriah which is above Deadwood so I humbly appologise and next time I will look at my notes. Moving on - Wild Bill was shot dead in a saloon in Deadwood and the plaque below the bust reads:- J B Hickok died August 2. 1876 by pistol shot aged 39 years. Custer was lonely without him. Erected by J H Riordan of N. Y. 1891.

From the photos I have seen of him it seems a very good likeness. Isn't it ironic that rotating just 1 letter would calm this old cowboy right down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, let's see, counting on fingers and toes, George Custer only had to wait about 39 days for Bill...assuming they went to the same place. lol. I see they liked wearing their hair in the same style too. Outstanding photo of this handsome bronze statue!
