A Dutch good friend introduced me to R'osity... and now, I really feel good in this community : I enjoy a lot your friendship and comments !BIOWith a few exceptions (indicated), I'm using a simple CANON Digital IXUS i... Sometimes, I do some postwork using ArcSoft PhotoStudio 5, but I just installed Adobe PhotoShop 7.0...
But now, after having seen all these beautiful shots, I just bought (Nov 2004) myself a new camera : NIKON 70 D !
I'm a chemist, leading a small R&D team in polymers (My greatest pleasure is to stimulate creativity...) I'm also studying to become a patent attorney...
I'm living in Belgium and enjoy travelling, hiking (going out every week-end is a vital must !), reading (my French preferred authors are Marc Ly, Jean-Christophe Grang Amie Nothomb,...), music (great fan of US female voices : Jennifer Warnes, Natalie Merchant, Sarah McLachlan, ...) and ... photography ! :~)
Bien cordialement aussi aux amis francophones !

most delightful shot!!! looks so peaceful, despite the ice (it wasn't until the recent frost, that I realised how big their feet actually are... love the sounds they make!)

Neat picture, very nice composition. I guess they got cold feet. They say their feet are large so they can walk on lily pads. Sort of like a snowshoe. It's amazing how birds and other animals will tolerate such weather. Your coot and ours are only different in that our coot has a ruby button on his forehead, while yours is pearl. :)

Nice one! If I was there, you could have had an 'old coot' on ice, but I would have broken through, LOL!
