Description

at the end of a performance, the dancers take their bows, exhausted, elated, still buzzing with the excitement that they've been part of... but still, at the end... the bow. Deep and respectful, for you are thanking the audience for their patience, for their appreciation and understanding of your art.. Without an audience, you would just be dancing in a dark room, alone and afraid... they give you the strength to go on, the love to endure... for that, you give with grace... the final bow! and with this image, I give my final bow to this series... it has been a great honour presenting this humble work to you, a rememberance of times past, glories ear forgotten... I bow deeply in thanks.... (a little background stuff before I go on... about a week after the event, there was a closing party and I had the pictures on the table for everybody to see...all the dancers and everybody associated with the event were looking and cooing about how good they were... this one girl, had tears in her eyes....haven't had many days like that in my life... I'm glad got at least one. I worked for a while.. maybe 2 years at a dance company, doing tech work, fixing things, getting electrocuted (it happens a lot to me) and staging shows. one day they gt an eviction notice from the landlord who was going to turn the dancespace into a restaurant... silly concept. I had one month to tear down everything, lights, staging, set pieces, raise the dancefloor, the works... and the director and the artistic director were tooooo cheap to hire someone to help me...but I got it done, loaded into the back of a 6 ton, and moved over too the new place, which was way smaller than the old place. Had to put a lot of stuff into storage. The company had hire friends of theirs to build a sprung floor for the dancfloor, but they did such a pisspoor job that I had to rebuild it.... the good new is that the new studio was just across the back alley from where I lived... the bad news is that they spent too much money on the move and repairs that I did that they couldn't keep me on anymore.... damn! I did these shots about a year after working for the dance studio... it helped heal the anger and pain... and that's the thing... art has curative powers..all is beautiful... so, I hope you all enjoyed the series, gonna take a short break and then start something new... see ya soon!) comments welcome, please enjoy!

So SAD when this happens - I feel for you! this pic is a wonderful finish to the series, you did really well, Colin and deserved more recognition - which you did get from the dancers, to say the least! such a humbling experience - to see this, thanks! BB
