I'm exercising my right to a little bit of non-linear jumping around in the Klane legends. I'll get back to the ongoing tale of the Great Burning with my next post but here's a little glimpse ahead in time to a fragment of a story that may yet come to pass or may blow away on the wind... From somewhere in the tale of "Klane Kalonia and the Spy from the Moon", comes this image. Our hero finds himself confronting the Gate Wardens at the lost and ancient city of Hesperados in a quest to find new allies to aid him in resisting the Enclave of Trassumul. Here, old stories tell that there yet remains an embassy of the Guardians of Luna, once a sister organisation of the now vanished Guardians of Earth. Klane seeks an audience with the ambassador to the Moon Princes, whose friendship with the Conclave has waned and cooled as their world dies. But the Guardians of Luna have grown strange and reclusive and their help may be ambiguous at best. How will Klane fare?
