APO ART Uumatmnin ("meaning "from the heart") focuses on current affairs and inspiring profiles of our people. We provide encouragement to our youth through the stories of Inuvialuit people who are accomplished roles models in the community. In order to have strength and power the Inuvialuit of the Western Arctic need to be informed of major issues. Our region is facing the impacts of oil pipelines and gas exploration, the evolvement of our land claims and the ongoing process of self government negotiations are all issues that affect our people and therefore they need to be informed." Very cool Apo work Magik. The problems with the Pipelines is not that they are a Bad Idea, actually they are a major step to Energy Independence for both Canada and the U.S.. The problem with the Pipelines lays at the feet of those who would Profit the most from their completion, The Oil and Gas Consortiums. The environmental Impact of the project could be minimized by better Engineering but they won't do that. The projects go to the Lowest Bidder who will use the Cheapest Materials and Workforce they can get and Maintanance will be even more Slipshod, why, because it would eat up the Bottom Line Profits to do otherwise. It could be done with without damaging the environment either during construction or for the Lifetime of the Pipeline if built properly with an eye on sustainability but Not by the Oil Companies and their Lobbiests, their only concern is $$$$$ Peace
