Description

this is a model of how it looked back then as when the civil war the Union camped around oak alley and this would have been head quarters tent here where the big leaders of the union got together to fight the men in gray. this area was taken over in the war by the Union. Not all of Louisiana had fallen into the North side but along the Mississippi River it had fallen. the house in back is the owners house that owns Oak Ally. not much fighting was around here. oh just saw that the flag on the right is a 2nd Louisiana Cavalry Flag here a link to it http://www.pookandpook.com/cat/2010-04-24/1084?xfsid=b2h1u3uvj6re3bjicui2c1o784 here a link that have Louisiana in the Civil war http://www.louisianacivilwar.org/

Great shot. Every time I see a reenactment, I am always surprised by all the heavy wooden stuff they carried around back then. I guess the officers just had to have their "stuff".
