Description

Ultra Fractal 5.04, with five-layers used (four-layers UF, and one-layer Painter). I suppose the correct title should be "Constantinople - The Last Night," but "Byzantium has a better ring to it. The Ottomans, under the leadership of Sultan Mehmed II, began the siege of Constaninople on the 6th April 1453 with an overwhelming force, and with cannon of a size and power previously considered impossible. The final attack began on the night of the 29th May, and seems to have been successfully resisted until the Turkish forces entered the city though a small postern gate which seems to have been left open. Hence my visualisation of a small doorway within the black dominance of the wall. I also used Painter 9.5 to slightly emphasise the shape of the solitary warrior. Cliff. Cliff.
