-and some more pics I won't bother you with-
Norma, Irma's giant baby, was put down on february 3rd in a horse hospital in Gent, Belgium after being allopathicly 'treated' for colic.
She would have turned 8 in may...
Guess 'everybody' (would have) loved her! She was 1 of a kind...
'forever young'
but no one goes before his/her time...
(didn't feel like posting this earlier (but don't think I ever will))

A great shame, such a beautiful horse, this is a lovely shot of her.

the farm in the back btw is not 'her farm' it belonged to OUR neighbour-across-the-street before he retired actually all of our houses were build in HIS former meadows before he moved 'there' this is the 'far away meadow' with the (cabbage-& more-) fields in the back

I do know the feeling!! When I had to put my mare down I was devastated. She is buried on my property under two very large fir trees where often she stood with the other horses we had.

I've always been partial to gray horses. So sorry...this one was a real beauty.

She was beautiful. So are you saying that homeopathic treatments could have saved her?
blondeblurr
I can sympathise with you - because animals cannot speak for themselves, to tell you of their pain, when first encountered ... and here she is immortalised by you forever and in your heart, lovely captures, BB

Condolences on the loss of your big friend. It's always sad, but when the younger ones go it seems to hurt more.

Hi sweetie, I'm touched by your massage, dear Ine. Also touched by the Bach-music. As a great fan from his music! (Ze speelden het wel een beetje vlug, misschien voor jouw geliefde Norma in galop).

A fantastic tribute and a wonderful collage to remember Norma.

Such a sad story - and such a beautiful horse. I think you will like the song "Heavy Horses" of Jethro Tull - always have it in mind when I see such horses.
