DRAGON DREAMS Meet XUI MEI (a.k.a. “beautiful plum”) captured here remembering the rooms, the screens, the lanterns, fans, the temples, symbols and flowers she had seen in doarte’s celebration of the YEAR OF THE DRAGON and our MADHOUSE MUSEUM’s delightful display of Chinese artistry from Ming to Manchu dynasties. This lovely lady offered doarte some advise. “Why don’t you make those settings, scenes and motifs available to today’s audiences so creative imaginations can translate past beauty into modern meanings.
