My name is Clive, resident in Cape Town, South Africa. I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying the medium in a more serious manner since 2003.
I took a trip to the UK armed with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I had inherited from my Dad.
Out of the holiday snaps, I managed to get a few that I felt were quite good, but had no idea of how I managed to get them 'right'.
Since then I have done a couple of courses in the darkroom and joined a local photographic society where I was on the committee for a while.
Hopefully I am getting it 'right' more often these days.
I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and being tied into the lens system, the Sony A100 DSLR was my introduction to the digital world. This has recently been upgraded to the Alpha SLT-A55 and I have to admit that I have shot more digital in the last five years than film!
My daughter Kristen (Kris10) and son Sean (fotoSean) have accounts here too, in the hope that they will learn too and share my passion! Sadly they have been rather quiet of late, much like their dad...
August 2015 marks the end of my 3 years as coordinator for the Photographic section of Renderosity. What a wonderful time of my life that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you all for the opportunity!
Keep the smile alive,
Clive

Superb capture Clive. Love the capture and composition. Your timing is spot on capturing the person in the background in between the guard's legs. God Bless.

No mate! They are not allowed to move.. they have to stand a fixed amount of time at the spot them move, doesn't matter if your there or not.. I have seen so complete morons try to get reactions from them (Rosy was there as well....ashamed to say they were Americans!) I got a shot like this, BUT nowhere ear as close! A stunner! Rob

Wonderful shot, Clive; I sure don't understand the reason for the "chin strap", though, it looks awfully uncomfortable!

I'm with Denise. I know it might be a little silly of me, but I always worry about those chin straps. They seem to land in the most ridiculous places! Aside from that, which has nothing to do with your talent as a photographer, this is great! :)
