Description

Just purchased a scarce copy of Clark Ashton Smith's "The Black Book". It contains all the story lines, concepts and his personal observations. The White Sybil is an excellent tale, I believe it is in the Zothique cycle. At any rate over the weekend I decided to send this out to my gallery. While processing it into my PC the main hub port over surged and the converter chip became fiery red and began to melt.My wireless system blew out and I had no keyboard or mouse. Finally, today I am back online thanks to Best Buy. Oddly, I had some reservations about posting this recent drawing. But I took a chance, hope you enjoy it. And never underestimate the powers of the Sybil!

The Eldritch Dark But, walking at noon on the streets of Cerngoth, he met a stranger marvel than these. Idly, with no expectation of other than homely things, he beheld the White Sybil of Polarion. He knew not whence she had come, but suddenly she was before him in the throng. Amid the tawny girls of Cerngoth with their russet hair and blue-black eyes, she was like an apparition descended from the moon. Goddess, ghost or woman, he knew not which, she passed fleetly and was gone: a creature of snow and norland light, with eyes like moon-pervaded pools, and lips that were smitten with the same pallor as the brow and bosom. Her gown was of some filmy white fabric, pure and ethereal as her person. They just don't write like that anymore, Clark Ashton Smith and H.P. Lovecraft could cast a spell with their words, weave a web of prose then scare the Sh!t outa ya, make you fear the Dark. Super work my friend Peace
