Description

At the turn of the century,Brownsville was a fine and neat little town, the surrounding industries giving bread and security for generations, everybody minded his own business, but people stuck more together, spending the evenings in reciting stories of old and war adventures, having a beer, tending a garden, woman where chit-chatting by the fence, exchanging opinions about god and the world. These times have long gone, what with Brownsville now beeing evacuated by the nazi dudes. It started slowly creeping in ,with the brainwashing radiostations and tv programs, all the new communication devices where the nazis spread their evil seeds big time. This is one of the shots of the so called good times,Ol’Joe walking with the kid on a Sunday evening before heading home where mom is waiting with the dinner. And she is a good cook at that. Tolles Bild, da kommt so richtig gut die Nostalgie rüber! Das Sepia passt ganz wunderbar! Allerdings gehen bei mir immer die Alarmglocken an, wenn ich alte Säcke mit kleinen Kindern sehe...LOL

It is good to remember when times weren't so complicated with all the extrememly excessive information that continually bombards us every day! A most wonderful scene and fine reminder of what we perceive to have been happier times! Thanks for sharing, Rene! A most delightful creation!

A wonderful look at bygone days, Rene! The sepia is just perfect for this! As the old values fade into the mists of time, the dark side continues to take thier place... Sad..

Brilliant work and idea, René. You really hit something valuable, with this style and idea. Love the sepia postwork/filter too. Also an important piece of history to tell. I read somewhere.. that a tremendous amount of young germans..do not even know who Hitler was, and what he did.

Reminds me of some of our old photos from before the war; a very different world, where people got together and enjoyed what they had. Too many people just don't talk anymore; or walk; or get way from their electronic magnets.
