Description
My mind has a tendency to see things in natural patterns. Clouds, wood grain, rocks, water, etc. I know I'm not unique & that many people have the same tendency, but it's by no means universal. I sometimes see things very clearly & inescapably that some people can't see no matter how hard they try. And, of course, sometimes, as in Rorschach ink blots, different people see completely different things in the same pattern. So when I post an image like this, I never know whether it will be as obvious or vivid to others as it is to me.
This is a photo of moss growing on the trunk of a tree. I spotted a gorilla's face in it from a distance & zoomed to crop it around the face. Can you see it?
By the way, the reason I categorized this as "surrealism" is that this kind of technique was used by the early surrealists, especially Salvador Dali, who named it the paranoiac-critical method...

Even if you hadn't called it 'Gorillas in the Mist' - I do mean Moss ;) I agree with you and say the same thing - there is no doubt about - a little imagination goes a long way ... and postwork! You da spin-doctor! BB

Although I can see your gorillas - to me it looked like two people tenderly touching each other (their heads are touching) Great image.

PandaB5 - I can see that, now that you've pointed it out...

Yes, I see the heavy brows...and the people touching. Like your comment reference Dali...we have four Dalis hanging on our walls (from his earlier less abstract days)...but I have never read about his paranoiac-critical method until ten minutes ago. If you were to ask me what I read, I'd have to say, "I now have a feel for it but I'll have to read it three more times to begin to explain it."
