Aw, how cute! I bet he/she must be quite tame for you to be able to get so close to take a photo. I understand they're quite docile and make good, affectionate pets, BUT, the stink gland grows back after removal! My brother had one that often accompanyed him home from school when we lived in Connecticut. My brother talked to it, but never directly approached it. Mother was horrified he would get stink attacked. It never happened.

What a beautiful close-up! and I had to lol at the title! :) Never considered these as one of my pets, though such a sweet little furry guy! I've never minded the smell of skunk, I must admit... it's one of those "stinks" that seems to grow on you eventually.... perhaps :)

Have lots of these in our neck of the woods. A couple of nights ago, one of them somehow got into the sub-basement of our house & we could smell it from the room above. My wife has a very keen sense of smell & was very annoyed, but fortunately I was blessed with a very poor sense of smell & so was only mildly annoyed. Quite a few of them end up as road kill around here...

Before we had houses built either side of us, we used to get a pair of these visiting us at night. They stayed at the bottom of the garden, while we stayed on the patio by the house, so everyone was happy. Cute little guys. This is a great photo.
