I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

I REALLY like this! The composition is very nice, and the objects well chosen. The house fits in well with the trees. It does look very realistic.

The road fits very nice into the terrain and now the "tarry" zones are looking pretty natural. Well composited. Cranking up the global illumination - strength on surfaces to 2 or maybe even 3 would get rid of the too dark shadows.

Amazing composition and render, Bob!!!

Overall I think this is a great composition. (and I sure wish my car was that shiny!)

Nicely composed scene, Bob. Do you know what's causing the streaks across the road?

Really excellent

Nice scene, very photographic. Pity about the duplicated trees though. I would have used some different types and sizes etc. Skids across the road? Probably made by a deer trying to stop and see what's coming?

Thanks to all for visiting. @John: Those streaks are supposed to represent repaired cracks in the road.

Very well done Bob!!! Looks exactly like my area here in the Southern Interior of B.C. in the early summer before the heat dries up the grasses. Very photo-realistic. To bad there wasn't some randomness to the size of the trees, would have made it that more convincing, also would have toned down the shininess of the car, must be on the way to a car show eh. Otherwise a beautifully done photo. ;o)

Makes me want a ride in that car- to see what other wonders are around the bend. I'll be sure and wave at the gentleman on the porch. A superb place you created Bob!

Excellent work. The man on the porch adds a different dimension to the render. The back ground gives a nice open, middle of no where feeling. But I really love the Reflection of the road on the car. Bet that took so doing.
