Description

M41 is not as glamorous as the horse head nebula but, M41 is lying about 4 degrees south of Sirius and contains about 100 stars, including several red giants, the brightest being a mag 6.9. This star is about 700 times more luminous than our Sun. The stars are distributed over about 25 light years across, and all receding from us at 34 km/sec. We took several shots for the moon that turned out great and I shot M78. I will upload them over the next days. This picture is a combination of 30 sixty second shots. Equipment: 6" astrotech reflector, coma corrector, canon rebel (modified) backyard EOS, deep sky stacker adn photoshop Thanks for viewing and any comments.
