Description
This is a post-processing variation on the Poser rendered image seen here: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2306138. This image was processed essentially to black & white, then toned with the Filter Factory Cibachrome plugin, and lastly partially desaturated.
The lighthouse at the end of the world. I was looking for remoteness and a maybe a little loneliness, but nothing particularly harsh. The tree and shrubs hint of a wooded area just out of the view, but it is definetly not Spring. I think there are a few things going on, if you look for them. The lighthouse keeper must see many sunsets; he's going back inside and the sun isn't quite set. Maybe it's time to turn on the light. The cat appears to have interest in the gulls who may be interested in what the pelican has caught. The pelicans, probably a pair, appear to care less. Off to the side the two small shore birds may be having an altercation, although the sandpiper is so samll, it's hard to make out.
The sea and sky are Rubicon Digital's Poser Ocean, using a photo by Lily Hydrangea. Poser Ocean is a very versatile set and doesn't take an inordinate time to render. I've been using it more and more. The beach is from the DMK Pier 1 set. It looks good and again, doesn't take forever to render. The tree is the Scots Pine and the brush Lisa's Botanicals - Dead Bushes, both from DAZ. The keeper is M4 wearing the Edwardian Casual Suit from DAZ. The gulls are by Digital I, the pelicans are from Content Paradise, and the shorebirds are the Greater Yellowlegs and Least Sandpiper from the Songbird Remix - Shorebirds 3 set from DAZ. And Zoë is the Millennium cat.

Beautiful work! I love the sepia tones. I think you achieved the remote loneliness perfectly!
